Amaryllis formosissima

Amaryllis formosissima, more commonly grown under the name Sprekelia formosissima ("Aztec lily" or "Jacobean lily"), is a bulbous plant native to Mexico, in the Amaryllidaceae family. It produces a single, spectacular, velvety red flower with narrow, reflexed petals reminiscent of an orchid, carried on a short stem in summer.
