Freesia alba (CV ou hybride) Simone
F.alba is a highly variable species, bearing on the same spike white florets blotched with yellow, strongly scented. In early spring, the stems carrying 3 to 4 conical flowers offer their unrivalled fragrance.
Here is a special offer of a pure white form (hybrid?), made up of 7-10 large flowers twice the size of those of the type F.alba and just as fragrant. Multiplies well from seed (flowering in the 2nd year). The flowers are so heavy that they do not stand upright and they lean over. The genus
Ce genre d'Afrique du Sud (Le Cap)est généralement connu par ses hybrides. Les espèces botaniques sont plus petites, souvent plus parfumées et se naturalisent aisément par semis spontanés. Compte tenu de leur végétation hivernale, plantez-les en fin d'été.
