Romulea requienii (ex Sardaigne)

This is the same species as the previous entry, Romulea requienii, here from its Sardinian provenance. Endemic to Corsica and Sardinia (with more scattered populations in mainland Italy), this tiny cormous Iridaceae under 10 cm grows from coastal meadows up to the highest mountain ridges of the island. It produces 1 to 3 small, rounded-lobed flowers in February-March. It requires well-drained sandy or stony soil and a sunny position.
