Geissorhiza bracteata

Geissorhiza bracteata is an Iridaceae endemic to the Cape Province, South Africa, belonging to a genus of small cormous plants confined to the winter-rainfall zone of the south and west coasts. As precise information on this species remains limited, the description here relies on genus-level characteristics: an asymmetric corm with a hard, woody tunic, herbaceous bracts, and an elongated style with short, recurved branches. It is closely related to Geissorhiza delicatula, from which it differs in a longer floral tube. It requires well-drained soil and a sunny position.
