Achimenes cattleya light

This unusual tuberous plant from South America belongs to the family of the Gesneriaceæ, a close relative to Gloxinia and Saintpaulia . The creeping stems bear grey hairy leaves give rise to a 30cm long flowerstalk, with 8-10 white tubular flowers. Needs a shady position with light and a well drained soil.
