Agapanthus caulescens angustifolius

A smaller agapanthus from the northern region of south Afrca with dry winters. Flowers are bright bleu. The plant is decidious and therefore rather hardy.
The genus
A very popular plant in the milder climates, where it is often used as a border plant, along lakeside or streams, but also thrives in pots. Although the summergrowers are more hardy, we propose only the evergreen species, which produce more impressive flowers. With their rhizomatous root system, they support drought as well as humid conditions. The leaves can be destroyed by heavy frosts and the rhizomes should be protected by a mulch. Flowering is particularly abundant when planted superfically and in a sunny and crowded position.
