Albuca humilis

Native to southern Africa, from the high grasslands of the Drakensberg to the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal, Albuca humilis is a small bulbous plant in the Asparagaceae. The small white bulb produces only one or two narrow leaves during active growth, losing them again as it goes dormant. The short flower stem, up to 10 cm, bears one to three upright flowers with six white tepals striped green outside, the inner three tipped yellow. It requires a sunny to bright position, well-drained soil, and must be kept dry during its dormant rest.
