Albuca pendula

Native to cliffs in south-western Saudi Arabia, Albuca pendula is a cliff-dwelling Asparagaceae with a partly emergent, globular bulb, producing long, fleshy, cascading leaves. Unlike most Albuca species, which hail from southern Africa, this one is not cold-hardy. In late winter and spring, a flowering stem bears a dense cluster of bright yellow, drooping, bell-shaped flowers. The plant goes dormant and loses its leaves in summer. It requires a sunny position, sharply drained soil, and winter protection in cool climates.
