Albuca sp nova

This introduction, not yet formally described ('species nova'), belongs to Albuca, a large genus of bulbous plants (around 170 species) in the family Asparagaceae, distributed across Africa, Madagascar and the Arabian Peninsula, with greatest diversity in the winter-rainfall regions of South Africa. A tunicate bulb produces strap-shaped leaves, sometimes fleshy or spiraled depending on the species, followed by a stem bearing a raceme of pendulous flowers, often yellow or white with green stripes. It grows well in full sun, in well-drained soil, with a dry rest period after flowering.
