This entry corresponds to the white-flowered form of Cyclamen hederifolium (Primulaceae) f. album, a tuberous plant native to the Mediterranean basin. From August to October, before the leaves appear, it bears delicate, pure white, butterfly-like flowers, lacking the pink tone typical of the species, followed by heart-shaped leaves marbled with silver, decorative all winter. Grow in part shade, in humus-rich, well-drained soil; very hardy, naturalizing readily under trees.
