Allium

Allium unifolium (Amaryllidaceae), the one-leaf onion, is native to the coastal ranges of California, Oregon and Baja California. Growing 30 to 60 cm tall, it forms a single bulb with 2 to 3 flat leaves. In late spring and early summer it produces broad, loose umbels of up to 30 satiny pink star-shaped flowers. It tolerates moist clay soils. Grow in full sun, in cool, well-drained soil.
