Allium zebdanense (Amaryllidaceae), the Lebanon onion, is native to the Near East (Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Israel) and the Caucasus. It forms dense clumps of arching, carex-like foliage, from which 45 cm stems rise in May bearing a slightly nodding umbel of white star-shaped flowers. It tolerates dry shade well but also flowers in full sun. Grow in well-drained soil, in light shade or sun.
