Allium oreophylum

Native to the mountains of Central Asia, Allium oreophilum (syn. A. ostrowskianum) is a small, compact allium 15-20 cm tall with narrow grey-green leaves. In spring, slender stems carry a loose umbel of 10 to 15 star-shaped, bright pink to red flowers with darker veins. Easy to grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun, it is ideal for rock gardens, borders and containers, and attracts bees and butterflies.
