Allium scrozonerifolium ssp. scorzonerifolium

Native to Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, Allium scorzonerifolium (sometimes spelled scrozonerifolium) is a bulbous perennial in the Amaryllidaceae family, with the characteristic onion scent. Linear or cylindrical basal leaves accompany a leafless flowering stem bearing, in summer, an umbel of yellow, star-shaped flowers. Like other alliums, it grows in dry, sunny habitats on poor, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun with a dry rest period after flowering, the bulb remaining dormant outside the growing season.
