The genus Alstroemeria (Alstroemeriaceae), known as lily of the Incas, comprises around a hundred species of rhizomatous perennials native to South America, chiefly Chile, Brazil and Peru. Their resupinate leaves and umbels of flowers, often streaked or mottled with contrasting colours, bloom in summer. As the exact species is not specified for this item, this description remains at genus level: grow in full sun to part shade, in cool, rich, well-drained soil.
