The true amaryllis: dormant during the summermonths; suddenly, towards the end of the summer, the tall flowering scapes appear which bears a bouquet of fragrant trumpets. During heavy frosts protect the leaves with horticultural fleece. Flowering improves as the plants are established. Very suitable for cutflowers.
