Anthropodium cirrathum

Arthropodium cirratum, sometimes spelled "cirrathum", is a rhizomatous perennial endemic to New Zealand, where it grows naturally on coastal cliffs and banks, often in the shade of coastal forest. It forms an evergreen clump of long, arching, deep green leaves up to 60 cm long. In spring and summer a branched flowering stem rises over a metre tall, bearing numerous small, star-shaped, six-petalled white flowers with mauve and yellow stamens. Known as the rengarenga lily, it prefers part shade to full sun, well-drained soil, and is damaged by hard frost.
