Babiana

Babiana tubulosa (Iridaceae) is a cormous geophyte endemic to the Western Cape province of South Africa, occurring from Vredenburg to Mamre within fynbos vegetation. It produces narrow, ribbed, upright leaves and spikes of often fragrant, funnel-shaped flowers, cream to pale pink, marked with blood-red blotches on the lower lobes. Grow in full sun, in sandy, well-drained soil, keeping dry during summer dormancy.
