Babiana disticha

Now generally referenced under Babiana fragrans, to which it has been reassigned, Babiana disticha grows on sandstone, granite and occasionally clay slopes of the northwestern and southwestern Cape, South Africa. This small, 7-20 cm winter-growing Iridaceae produces fragrant, pale violet, occasionally creamy yellow flowers from July to September, marked with a narrow median streak and dark blue to purple markings at the base of the lower tepals. It requires well-drained soil and a sunny position.
