Babiana stricta ‘Médit special





B. stricta is easy to grow and even recommended to be planted in open ground. 5 different selections with different colours are presented.'Méditerrané': specially large pale blue flowers.
The genus
This south african genus is very easy to recognise by its ribbed and pointes leaves. Its growth pattern is fairly late and flowering occurs from the end of April until the end of May. Even during dormancy the flowerstems and leaves remain intact and the bulbs remain easy to locate during the summer. Small bulblets are formed on the underground part of the stem which begin the grow when the plant finally desintegrates. Also make a suitable potplant.
