Allium beauregqard

Allium 'Beau Regard' is a hybrid ornamental onion grown for its very large, spherical umbels, up to 20 cm across, made up of numerous small, purplish-pink star-shaped flowers. A sturdy stem rises to about one metre above a rosette of broad, glossy, strap-shaped leaves that stay attractive through flowering. It blooms in late spring to early summer and is highly attractive to pollinators. It grows in full sun, well-drained soil, the bulb planted at about three times its own depth.
