Bellevalia flexuosa (Asparagaceae) is a small bulbous plant native to the eastern Mediterranean and the Near East. In spring it produces narrow, arching leaves, then a loose raceme of small tubular flowers, greenish-brown to purplish, carried on a supple, flexuous stem that gives the species its name. A modest but appealing choice for collectors of botanical bulbs. Grow in full sun, in well-drained soil kept dry in summer; hardy to around -10 °C.
