Zantedeschia calla

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
"Calla" is the common name given to Zantedeschia with coloured spathes, mainly derived from Zantedeschia elliottiana and Z. rehmannii, tuberous plants in the Araceae family native to southern Africa. Unlike the white arum lily (Z. aethiopica), these callas produce yellow, pink, orange or purple spathes above foliage sometimes speckled with white, in summer. Less hardy, they require well-drained soil, full sun, and a dry, frost-free winter rest.
