Calochortus

Calochortus uniflorus (Liliaceae), the large-flowered star-tulip, is native to Oregon and California, growing in moist meadows and openings up to 200 m elevation. From late spring to summer it bears one to five upright, bell-shaped flowers, pinkish-white to lilac, sometimes spotted purple at the petal base. Grow in a bright position, in cool, well-drained soil kept moist in growth and drier during dormancy; hardy to around -12 °C.
