Calochortus superbus
The flowers are cream coloured (almost pale yellow) with dark purple nectarguides which are surrounded by yellow. Flowers slightly later than C. venustus.
The genus
A very colourful genus native from California. In a Mediterranean climate it is easy to grow in open groud as well as in pots. Reasonably hardy because of its late growing period. C. venustus, C. superbus and C. luteus all have very rigid flowering stems which carry numerous beautifull roselike buds.
