Calochortus uniflorus

The soft pink flowers appear relatively early. The plant is only 25cm high and many basal bulbils are formed.
The genus
A very colourful genus native from California. In a Mediterranean climate it is easy to grow in open groud as well as in pots. Reasonably hardy because of its late growing period. C. venustus, C. superbus and C. luteus all have very rigid flowering stems which carry numerous beautifull roselike buds.
