Calydorea is a genus in the family Iridaceae comprising around twenty species of small perennial plants with a tunicated bulb, native mainly to temperate South America, with a few representatives in Mexico and as far as Florida. The flowers, borne in late spring or summer, are star-shaped, with tepals of roughly equal size, in light blue, violet, white or yellow depending on the species, with free stamens. These small plants thrive in well-drained soil and a sunny position, with a dry rest period. The precise species of this item could not be confirmed; description given at genus level.
