Calydorea is a genus of the Iridaceae family comprising about twenty species of small perennial plants with tunicated bulbs, native mainly to temperate South America, with a few species extending into Mexico and Florida. Flowers, produced in late spring or summer, are star-shaped with subequal tepals, in light blue, violet, white or yellow depending on the species, with free stamens. These small plants prefer well-drained soil and a sunny position, with a dry dormant period. The exact species behind this entry could not be confirmed; description given at genus level.
