Oxalis cernuum is a synonym of Oxalis pes-caprae, the Bermuda buttercup, a bulbous species native to South Africa and widely naturalised in Mediterranean climates. It forms a mat of bright green trifoliate foliage topped, from winter to spring, by numerous bright yellow funnel-shaped flowers. Very vigorous and multiplying readily by bulbils, it can become invasive in open ground. It is grown in full sun, in any well-drained soil, with a dry summer dormancy.
