Colchicum cilicicum (Colchicaceae) is a bulbous plant native to Turkey and Lebanon, growing in scrubland and rocky ground. In autumn, ahead of the leaves, each bulb produces numerous star-shaped, pinkish-purple flowers with a paler throat, up to twenty per bulb, followed in spring by broad, glossy foliage. Grow in full sun, in well-drained soil kept dry in summer; hardy to around -15 °C.
