Colchicum speciosum 'Album' (Colchicaceae) is the pure white form of this species from the Caucasus and Turkey, considered one of the finest garden colchicums. In autumn, ahead of the leaves, it produces large, cup-shaped, immaculate white flowers, followed in spring by broad, glossy foliage that should be left to die back naturally. Grow in full sun or part shade, in rich, well-drained soil; hardy to around -20 °C.
