Conanthera campanulata (Tecophilaeaceae) is a small bulbous plant native to Chile, growing in sandy ground. In spring or summer, slender 10-30 cm stems bear loose, open panicles of pendent, bell-shaped, deep blue-purple flowers, slightly hairy inside. Grow in full sun, in sandy, sharply drained soil; not very hardy, tolerating only around -4 °C, so protect from winter wet and frost.
