Crinum ‘Ellen Bosanquet’

A rare choice hybrid between C. moorei and C.zeylanicum which produces large bellshaped dark rose-red flowers. A very attractive garden subject, but the soft semi erect foliage is susceptible to frost damage.
The genus
Crinums originate mainly from the subtropical and tropical climats of Asia and Africa . They are extremely long lived ( 20 years or more!) in the same place. Well fertilised and watered, they will grow vigorously and flower throughout the summer. The bulbs are very large, weighing upto 1,5kg and are ,therefore, very expensive to ship; this extra cost is included in the indicated prices.
