Crinum hybr. blanche ex silverhill

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
This selection corresponds to a white-flowered Crinum hybrid of garden origin, distributed by the South African seed supplier Silverhill Seeds. Like other Crinum, a large bulbous genus in the family Amaryllidaceae well represented in southern Africa, it develops a large, long-necked bulb topped by a rosette of arching, strap-shaped, evergreen to semi-evergreen leaves. In summer, a sturdy stem carries an umbel of large, fragrant, trumpet-shaped white flowers, sometimes flushed pink as they age. It grows well in full sun, in rich, deep soil, with ample moisture during the growing season.
