Crinum powellii album — La Crinole

Very long arching pale green leaves. Just as hardy as the pink form. In a few years time it will form a group of bulbs from which emerge during the summer several flower stalks with magnificent pure white flowers which open widely. Firmly recommended. 1/2005 Ulf Eliasson:It is the hybrid of: bulbispermum x moorei AND moorei x bulbispermum. The botanical code state that the hybrid name include all hybrids between the two species. Either species can bee seed-parent/pollen-parent and you still get Crinum x powellii. In the history of the clones you can state with parent
The genus
Crinums originate mainly from the subtropical and tropical climats of Asia and Africa . They are extremely long lived ( 20 years or more!) in the same place. Well fertilised and watered, they will grow vigorously and flower throughout the summer. The bulbs are very large, weighing upto 1,5kg and are, therefore, very expensive to ship; this extra cost is included in the indicated prices.
