Crocus boryi

Native to western and southern Greece as far as Crete, Crocus boryi is a bulbous plant with dark green leaves up to 9 mm wide, appearing together with the flowers. In October and November it produces white to creamy flowers, 8 to 11 cm tall, sometimes lightly veined with purple, with an orange-yellow throat and matching style contrasting with white anthers. It is found in rocky places and phrygana scrub, up to 1500 metres in elevation. It thrives in well-drained soil, full sun, and a dry summer rest.
