Cyclamen de Naples

Cyclamen de Naples is the French common name for Cyclamen hederifolium (Primulaceae), a tuberous plant native to the Mediterranean basin, from southern France to western Turkey, once classified as C. neapolitanum, hence the name. From August to October, before the leaves, it bears delicate, butterfly-like pink to white flowers, followed by heart-shaped leaves marbled with silver. It is the hardiest wild cyclamen, naturalizing readily under trees. Grow in part shade, in humus-rich, well-drained soil; very hardy.
