Cypella aquatilis
A native from Brazil where it grows along streams and river banks. Flowers during 2 months in the summer with large open cupshaped flowers make an interesting display. Ideal plant to grow on the edge of ponds and basins. An unusual feature is that plantlets are produced in the axils of the leaves.

The ephemeral flowers (with the typical 3 large dominant segments) are produced in a continuous succession over a long period in the summer.These species need summer moisture to thrive and are mostly found in humid habitats which often become dry during the winter.
