Ferraria denspedunculata

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
Ferraria denspedunculata is a poorly documented species within the genus Ferraria, native to southern Africa. Like other members of the genus, it is presumably a cormous plant with sword-shaped foliage, producing short-lived, star-shaped flowers with frilled petals in the dark, mottled tones typical of the genus. Precise information on this rare species remains limited. Presumed cultivation in well-drained sandy soil, in full sun, with a dry summer rest, as for other Ferraria; protect from frost.
