Euphorbia SH

The genus Euphorbia (here without a confirmed species, reference 'SH') is one of the largest in the plant kingdom, richly represented in southern Africa by spectacular succulent forms, from small spiny globes to candelabra-like trees. All species are recognisable by their milky white latex, potentially irritant, and by leaves that are often reduced or deciduous, replaced by spiny photosynthetic stems arising from modified stipules. The minute flowers are grouped into cyathia. It requires full sun, very free-draining mineral soil, sparing watering, and protection from frost.
