The indication 'Kamisberg' likely refers to the Kamiesberg mountains in South Africa's Northern Cape, home to Ferraria macrochlamys subsp. kamiesbergensis among others, but the precise species sold under this name cannot be confirmed with certainty. The description below therefore applies to the genus in general: Ferraria are cormous Iridaceae from southern Africa, with fan-shaped or spirally arranged foliage, producing star-shaped flowers with often crisped or wavy-margined tepals in brown, green or spotted purple tones, sometimes with a fetid scent attracting pollinating flies. They require well-drained soil, a sunny position, and a dry summer rest. Species not confirmed.
