This entry corresponds to an unconfirmed Ferraria from the Wolfhoek locality, South Africa. The genus Ferraria, confined to southern and tropical Africa, comprises around eighteen species with persistent corms and often-branched stems, whose flowers, with their characteristic crisped tepal margins, generally last only a day or two. Many give off a foul smell attracting pollinating flies, while a few rarer species are pleasantly scented. It requires well-drained soil and a sunny position, with a dry summer rest.
