Ixia flexuosa is a bulbous plant native to the Cape region of South Africa (from the Cape Peninsula to Riversdale and Bredasdorp), in the Iridaceae family. It is distinguished by its slender, wiry, zigzagging stems (flexuosa meaning flexuous) bearing a spike of small star-shaped pink or white flowers. Flowering occurs in spring. Like most Ixia, it thrives in light, well-drained soil and full sun, with a dry summer dormancy typical of Cape bulbs.
