floribunda

Chasmanthe floribunda var. duckittii (Iridaceae) is a canary-yellow-flowered variant of this South African cormous plant, which arose in the Darling area of the Cape. Like the typical species, it produces a winter fan of leaves and tall, arching stems bearing dense, horn-shaped tubular flowers, here bright yellow instead of the usual orange. Grow in full sun or part shade, in well-drained soil, watered in winter; hardy to around -5 to -8 °C.
