This entry corresponds to an unconfirmed species related to the genus Galaxia (now included within Moraea), from the Sutherland area of the Northern Cape Karoo, South Africa - a high-altitude region with harsh winters. Galaxia are tiny, stemless or very short-stemmed Iridaceae with yellow or pink flowers borne in a basal tuft, the filaments fused into a column. Like other species in this group, it requires well-drained sandy or stony soil and a sunny position, with a dry summer rest.
