Gasteria glomerata

Gasteria glomerata is a small succulent endemic to a very restricted area near the Kouga Dam in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, where it grows on shaded, south-facing cliffs in poor, slightly acid soil. It forms dense clumps of dwarf rosettes with greyish-green, slightly rough (tuberculate) leaves arranged in two opposite rows, often strongly recurved. The stomach-shaped ("gasteriform") pink and red flowers are pollinated by sunbirds. It is grown in part shade, in a well-drained mineral substrate, with reduced watering in winter.
