Gladiolus Flevo hybr

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
'Flevo' is a series of horticultural hybrids of Gladiolus nanus, dwarf gladioli obtained by selection for their compact habit and colourful spikes, without a precise wild-species parentage. The tunicated cormus produces narrow sword-shaped leaves and a flower stem 30 to 60 cm tall, generally not needing staking, bearing a spike of flowers in bright and often contrasting colours. Flowering takes place in summer. It requires full sun, well-drained soil, and in cold climates, lifting the corms in autumn for frost-free winter storage.
