Gladiolus ?Sp? GRD 1677 is a South African wild species not yet identified with certainty, collected under this field number. Like most Cape gladioli, it grows in fynbos or winter-rainfall grassland from a tunicated, fibre-wrapped corm. The plant produces narrow, ribbed, sword-shaped leaves and a flowering spike bearing funnel-shaped blooms, with colour and flowering time varying between populations. Taxonomic confirmation is still pending; grow in full sun with sharp drainage and a dry summer rest.
