Habranthus sp??

This plant, offered under an uncertain identification (Habranthus sp.), belongs to the genus Habranthus, small bulbous plants in the amaryllis family native mainly to South America (Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil), adapted to dry climates. The bulb produces narrow, strap-shaped, greyish-green leaves and a stem usually bearing a single funnel-shaped flower held at an angle (unlike the upright flowers of the related Zephyranthes), in colours varying by species (pink, red, yellow, white). Flowering, often triggered by rain or heavy watering, may recur several times from spring to autumn. These hardy, drought-tolerant plants require well-drained soil and full sun.
