Haworthia marumiana (Tarkastad)

Haworthia marumiana is a small, stemless succulent endemic to the Eastern and Western Cape provinces of South Africa, occurring in Nama Karoo and Succulent Karoo vegetation; the 'Tarkastad' form refers to a collection locality in the Eastern Cape. It forms clumps of rosettes 7-8 cm in diameter, with soft olive-green, ovate-lanceolate leaves that turn purple in full sun, edged with small teeth. From spring to summer it bears small, whitish-green flowers on a slender spike. It is grown in bright light, in a well-drained mineral substrate, with a marked winter rest period.
