hederifolium

Cyclamen hederifolium (Primulaceae) is a tuberous plant native to the Mediterranean basin, from southern France to western Turkey. From August to October, before the leaves appear, it bears delicate, butterfly-like flowers, pink to white with darker, upswept petals toward the throat, followed by dark green, ivy-shaped leaves marbled with silver, decorative all winter. It is the hardiest and easiest wild cyclamen to grow, naturalizing readily under trees. Grow in part shade, in humus-rich, well-drained soil; very hardy.
